CANCELLED Administrators’ Academy #2001: Initial Qualification for Teacher Evaluation Day 1

Monday, June 10, 2019

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

This two-day Academy is for educators who are seeking initial training qualification to be legally qualified to conduct evaluations of licensed teaching personnel. The Academy aligns to the Illinois School Code competencies defined by Administrative Code Part 50, Section 50.420 (a-b). Participants must attend both sessions: pay the entire amount on Day 1 registration, but register for both days.

Training will focus on inter-rater reliability using the required performance evaluation ratings; how to observe instruction competently; constructive and supportive ways to communicate evaluation outcomes; and ways to use gathered data to evaluate professional practice and student growth.

Extensive pre-work assignments must be completed prior to attending the Academy and will be sent electronically to participants 7-10 days before the session(s) begin. If the pre-work is not complete before the first session, you will not be allowed to attend.

Participants will also complete an online assessment that includes viewing a video of classroom teaching, gathering evidence, aligning evidence to the components of the Framework for Teaching, and rating professional practice using Danielson’s Levels of Performance. Participants must pass the assessment to become a qualified evaluator and to receive Administrator Academy credit. Those who do not pass will receive PD Hours.
