This workshop is based on the book, “Choice Words: How Our Language Affect’s Children’s Learning” by Peter H. Johnston. We will explore the use of language in the classroom and how it helps children/students develop a positive sense of agency, with the goal of affecting positive change in the classroom climate. Specific examples of “choice” words educators can use in their classroom will be reviewed and discussed.
