Picture Books as Mirrors, Windows and Doors (Grades 6-8)

When we provide our students with mirrors and windows, children notice that we are the same and different and this is okay. We also share a common humanity. Middle school educators will learn to use picture books to establish context within their classroom that align to a standards based curriculum while opening windows and doors for new ideas and experiences.
