Picture Books as Mirrors, Windows and Doors (Grades K-3)

To create an equitable learning environment, educators provide access to culturally relevant materials and lessons. This session will focus on how elementary teachers can use picture books to provide students with images of self-identity and their culture, but also to broaden perspective, encourage writing, and increase classroom discussion.
