Day 1: Intro to Restorative Practice: This session will focus on exposing/reinforcing the principles of Restorative Practice. Participants will explore various elements of Restorative Practice which foster the development of meaningful and sustainable relationships. At the conclusion of this session, participants will have a greater vision of the “why” the use of Restorative Practice has a significant impact on their classroom, school, and community environment.
Day 2: Using Circles Effectively: This session will provide a live experience for participants to practice facilitating circles with their peers. The focus will be on how to use circles effectively in building community, repairing harm, and examples of various types of circles that can be used. Additionally, this session will take a deeper dive into the fundamental concepts related to Day 1 and reinforce the importance of understanding shame and being able to separate, “the deed from the doer.”
