This two-part Trauma-Informed Approach for Educators focuses on informing educators about the effects of early childhood adverse events on students and ways they can better support students. Session 1, February 26, 2019, deals with brain development and the effect of ACES (adverse childhood events) on cognitive and emotional development. The second session on March 21 examines how ACES affect student behavior at school and how educators can use trauma-informed practices and strategies to create school and classrooms environments to minimize negative student behavior. While you can sign up for one or both of these sessions, the sessions will best be experienced as a pair.
